From workshop for trains to workshop for ideas

From repairing trains to giving life to new ideas with innovation and creativity: that's the story of OGR Torino, Impact Week's home in Italy!

The Rebirth

For over one hundred years, the Officine Grandi Riparazioni drove economic growth and development in Turin: an example of industrial excellence where advanced technology met outstanding working conditions. When the massive 1895 complex risked demolition after being abandoned in the early 1990s, Fondazione CRT stepped in and acquired the 20,000-square-meter, H-shaped building – and began an ambitious redevelopment project.

OGR's New Life

After 1,000 days of construction work, and with an investment of 100 million euros by Fondazione CRT, the Officine reopened as OGR Torino: a unique center of culture and innovation in Europe, dedicated to wide-ranging experimentation in the arts and music, as well as in science, technology and entrepreneurship. A new hub where hi-tech solutions, environmental sustainability, historical preservation, versatile spaces and accessibility for all come together to support contemporary hybridizations between different fields, profit and non-profit, local and global.

Tech + Culture

Complementing the vibrant cultural program held at OGR Cult, today OGR Tech are one of Italy’s largest innovation hubs. With a strong focus on high-potential verticals and an ecosystem of 70+ partners, in their first three years they supported more than 200 startups and currently host 14 acceleration and innovation programs.
